After a full day of wine tasting, I drove back to Palo Alto to have dinner with my lovely cousin at Bon Vivant. It's small, chic, and luxe; and the jazz trio playing at the front of the restaurant added some grooviness to the atmosphere.
We started off with some artisan cheeses, and for my entrée I ordered the roasted salmon with butternut squash, Brussels sprouts, pickled cranberries, and citrus fondue. And we finished the night with two desserts -- the apple tart with vanilla ice cream and the classic milk and cookies.
The food was flavorful and looked like art (sorry about the terrible cell phone pics!), and the service was excellent. But above all, the time spent catching up and laughing with my cousin and her husband was absolutely wonderful.
