"Wait. What happened to Week 5?"  

I've been out of town more days this month than I've been in town, which meant I didn't get to pick up my Week 5 share (on June 30). But the lovely thing about having a CSA is that you can share it, and I "gifted" my Week 5 bushel to a vegetarian friend who I knew would love and know how to use the produce. I actually didn't get back into town until after the Week 6 pickup (on July 6), but my dad picked it up for me. He did a better job storing it this time, so when I returned home this week, I only had to do a little bit of cleaning and processing. 

I know this is way overdue, but here's what I got for Week 6: 

  • Broccoli
  • Yellow squash
  • Onions
  • Cabbage (fish tacos are on the way!) 
  • Two bunches of red kale
  • Two heads of romaine lettuce
  • Cucumbers
  • Garlic
  • Purple kohlrabi

My goal this week is to figure out what to do with the purple kohlrabi. I tweeted out a call for suggestions, and I got this good reply:
