Happy New Year

Transient

I love NEW! New Year, new starts, new everything. And to welcome 2008, I’ve got a new website. Again. I can’t help it. I think it must be a designer thing—the need to have to redesign everything I’ve designed. It’s also a writer’s habit. Write, rewrite, and so on. But at least it keeps us artists active, eh?

Well, in addition to the redesign, I’ve resolved to stay creatively active throughout 2008. I know that my corporate day job can be stifling, so I’ve made it a point to do something creative each day (whether it be take a photograph, draft song lyrics, doodle for five minutes on a legal pad, etc.). It’ll be a challenge, but I think I’ve already made some good steps towards a more creative lifestyle in this first week of January. For example, I’ve joined several Flickr groups that offer daily photography challenges. I’ve been taking my camera and my notebook everywhere since January 1 (and I’ve already become braver when it comes to whipping out my camera in crowds and public places—I’ve always been a bit timid at candids). And I’m also focusing a lot on the development of FinestraPhoto with my husband. We’ve already created a new blog site and gallery system, and we’re about to unveil our new website in a week.

I have a lot of hopes for this year, but I’ve got a good feeling that I’ll be able to fulfill all my resolutions. Well, at least the ones that don’t involve weight loss and drinking eight glasses of water a day. I mean, who can really drink that much water? Now, eight cans of Rockstar Juiced? I could do that…
